RESILIENCE, FAITH, & GOOD FOOD
Klaudette’s Kitchen was born from resilience, faith, and the unmistakable power of good food to bring people together.
When the COVID-19 pandemic brought life to a halt, founder Claudette—a dedicated Lyft driver and independent woman—found herself at a crossroads. With rides slowing and bills still due, she leaned into the gift she’d carried her entire life: cooking.
What began in a modest Gardena apartment quickly grew into something bigger. Claudette walked into local Black-owned businesses with confidence, offering samples and introducing her authentic Jamaican flavors. Word spread, the community responded, and her food began to build a loyal following plate by plate.
Her journey reached new heights when she secured a vending location at the bustling L.A. Live district—a high-energy intersection pulsing with tourists, sports fans, concertgoers, and everyday Angelenos. Whether the sun was shining or the rain poured down, Claudette showed up. Tent pitched. Food hot. Spirit unshakeable. And people came.
Because great food—and a warm heart—always draws a crowd.
That consistency, belief, and community support opened the door to the next chapter. About six months ago, an opportunity arose for a commercial ghost kitchen just minutes from her vending site. Though hesitant to take on new expenses, Claudette trusted her vision and stepped forward once again. Today, “Klaudette’s Kitchen” proudly operates a full brick-and-mortar kitchen, offering pickup and delivery through Grubhub, Uber Eats, and DoorDash as well as honoring our homely first location on Olympic Blvd.
From home-cooked plates to a thriving culinary brand, Klaudette’s Kitchen stands as a powerful testament to perseverance, community love, and the comfort of true Jamaican cuisine.
Catering is available for events of all sizes.
